No Double spent a sleepless night waiting for Kaka to wake up. She wanted him to see her first thing when he opened his eyes, and this thought made it impossible for No Double to rest well all night long as she stared blankly at Kaka's sleeping face.

She believed that Kaka would wake up early the next morning, but surprisingly there was no sign of him waking up. Yuanque and Xiao Nianhen were already awake, but still no sight of Kaka. No Double felt a bit let down; perhaps her expectations had been too high, so when she didn't get what she wanted, she became disappointed. Nianhen and Yuanque went out once to eat breakfast with Rongyan. From not sleeping all night long, No Double was very tired and fell into a deep sleep.

Seeing that the couple were both asleep, Ye Wei left them undisturbed and took the children out to play. The villa was quiet, only the sounds of birds outside could be heard, chirping like orioles singing, spreading throughout the entire villa very beautifully.

The men had been exhausted from building a wall yesterday, so none of them woke up early today. Only women were busy in the villa; Yuanque and Nianhen both had lots of energy after breakfast. Ye Wei and Rongyan felt they had nothing to do since the men hadn't woken up yet, so they took the children to other islands for a stroll through the market, buying some seafood.

Qianyun Island was not a residential island, but there were over ten nearby islands where the inhabitants were friendly and hospitable. Trading was convenient, with basic necessities available. The morning market had the freshest seafood. Moreover, several islands traded with coastal cities in North America, including a large pearl market where pearls could be bought extremely cheaply; for example, a crystal's price in the market could buy tens of high-quality pearls here, and they were all natural pearls, though some had minor imperfections, their collection value was far greater than that of artificial pearls.

This archipelago almost had everything. The morning market was bustling with activity.

Ye Wei, Shiyi, and Rongyan would come nearly every morning; they needed oil, salt, firewood, rice, soy sauce, vinegar, tea, and other essentials, which they bought from here or were brought back by Xiaobai and Moyao.

The people here lived very leisurely lives. While their living conditions weren't top-notch, they lived comfortably, almost like island dwellers. They had breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, dinner, late-night snacks... Around 3 PM on the islands, teahouses were packed with people as well as game rooms; it was rare to feel any pressure.

This atmosphere of life is quite likable.

Ye Wei and Eleven are not proficient in the local dialect, but everyone on the island at least speaks either English or Arabic, both of which they know, so communication isn't an issue. Ye Wei took Nianhen and Yuanque to explore the island for over two hours, buying lots of seafood and vegetables around the four islands. Vegetables are quite expensive on the island, especially green ones; none of them are locally grown and have to be transported from the mainland at high cost.

For more than a year now, everyone nearby knows Ye Wei, Eleven, and Rongyan et al.; their distinctively Eastern faces make them stand out. Moreover, Ye Wei, Eleven, and Rongyan are exceptionally beautiful by both Eastern and Western standards, though they are slightly older, their charm is excellent, and their mature allure is very attractive; men occasionally come over too, so everyone on the island knows them and understands that they are wealthy residents of Qianyun Island.

The three women returned loaded with purchases. Little Yuanque liked Ye Wei's big lobster but accidentally pricked her finger while playing with it; she was extremely upset. Rongyan wiped away the blood, feeling sorry for her, fortunately, the injury wasn't too deep.

Xian said, "Roundy, if you were as gentle and refined like your brother, you wouldn't get hurt."

Yuanque made a sound of protest.

The bedroom curtains are tightly drawn. Wuxiang only went to bed early in the morning; the sun on the island is too glaring for her, so she pulled three layers of curtains to block it out completely. The room was silent with no sound at all. Ka-ka opened his eyes, feeling momentarily dizzy.

Over a year has passed since then, and although his external injuries have healed, he still lacks consciousness.

Might be due to sleeping for too long, waking up suddenly made him very uncomfortable; he closed his eyes again. His hand moved slightly, rubbing his forehead, fingers, and arms—unused for a long time, they felt clumsy but regained dexterity quickly.

A faint fragrance drifted over from the side. When Kaka turned his head, he saw Wushuang's face; she was sleeping deeply, her long hair spread out on the pillow like a cloud, making her face look even more pale. Wushuang had lost weight.

She had slimmed down so much...

His memories were from before their wedding over a year ago. Back then, Wushuang was pregnant and smiling sweetly; due to the pregnancy, she looked plump with flirtatious features and her face was rarely ever chubby.

Now she had returned to being slim, even more so than when she wasn't pregnant.

Gently brushing away the strands of hair from her face, Kaka felt that despite the room's air conditioning being set appropriately warm, Wushuang's face was slightly cold. His hand was warm and dry, and it seemed that Wushuang clung onto his hand unconsciously, pressing it against her cheek.

"Kaka..." she murmured softly, calling out his name as if in a dream; yet she did not wake up. Kaka's heart ached with an indescribable pain. The room was not brightly lit but enough for him to clearly see each other’s faces. Seeing the satisfied expression on Wushuang's face made him feel bittersweet happiness, his mind filled with complex emotions.

He didn't know how long he had been sleeping.

But this action told him that Wushuang was waiting for him again, and doing so with such pain in her heart that she subconsciously held onto his hand tightly without letting go.

Kaka turned to kiss his bride. To him, she was his bride; they had encountered an accident on their wedding day. In his memory, yesterday was their wedding day. If not for the accident, she should have been lying happily next to him.

"Wonderful..." Kaka whispered her name softly, his voice hoarse from not speaking for a long time. It was hard to speak after such silence. Wonderful was deeply asleep and didn't respond; she only had a sweet smile on her lips as if in her dream she heard Kaka calling out to her.

Over the past year, it was only in dreams that she could have this luxury—dreaming of moving, talking, and having Kaka who cared for her. Upon waking up, she would see Kaka lying motionless beside her.

Kaka called out to Wonderful repeatedly, his deep and passionate voice, hoarse from shouting, reaching her ears. The smile on Wonderful's lips became even sweeter as she held Kaka's hand closer against his palm.

Kaka smiled, calling her a silly girl.

He looked around the room; it was very familiarly arranged, identical to how Wonderful’s room in Rome had been set up, almost everything moved over intact. The only difference was their wedding photo which had been added. Kaka thought they were still in Rome.

But he remembered that their castle in Rome had nearly been destroyed by the explosion and fire.

Might her room have been spared

The explosion and flames flooded back into Kaka's mind, making his spine shiver. Was the child alright During their fall from the window, he had sacrificed himself to protect Wonderful and the baby as much as possible. He thought that he would lose his life while ensuring their safety, which was all he could wish for. But after she fought with others and fell from such a great height, even if he had done everything to lessen the impact, it wasn't certain that they were unharmed.

Kaka couldn’t help but touch her abdomen; there was nothing there, making Kaka's spine shiver...derstand him.Adorably sticking out her tongue, Mumu took the phone: "Mummy, don’t worry about us—we’re all fine. I suggested Mom come to Rome. SenSen said he was scared being alone in Rome, so we came...
