Fang Liucheng had been concentrating on driving, and when Warming suddenly realized that it might not be appropriate to call Ye Feimo under these circumstances, she didn't bring it up since Fang Liucheng hadn't said anything about it.
"I thought you wouldn't want to cooperate with Han Bi," Fang Liucheng said calmly, pressing his lips together in a slight smile. "You seem to have no hard feelings despite your previous tense relationship."
"It's not as dramatic as that. Actually, Han Bi is an excellent artist, and it's my honor to work with her. Why wouldn't I agree Besides, having the chance for Little Han Bi to perform alongside her is a rare opportunity."
"You can joke about it, so everything must be fine then," Fang Liucheng said with a smile. "Are you feeling quite tired lately Your complexion looks very haggard."
"I'm alright, just need to go home in a few days and let Mom give me some nourishment." Warming replied while massaging her temples; she didn't know why but she had a headache that felt numb, which was quite uncomfortable.
Fang Liucheng noticed her actions. At the red light, he stopped and asked with concern: "Are you not feeling well"
"I have a slight headache... I'll be fine after resting for a bit," Warming forced a smile.
“Alright,” Fang Liucheng was very worried. As Warming closed her eyes, he felt her temperature, which seemed slightly high but she didn't seem to be running a fever; there was an unusual redness on her cheeks. Fang Liucheng frowned but didn't make much of it.
Warming felt better after resting for a while. Fang Liucheng parked the car at GK Oriental Hotel.
This was Warming's first visit to GK Oriental Hotel since that night, which could be considered where she and Ye Feimo had their first encounter. It felt quite special, though her only regret was not seeing anyone that day; if they had met again and he had hurt her feelings once more, it wouldn't have been such a pleasant place anymore.
Han Bi suggested dining at this hotel, as it was relatively quiet. The group went to the 24th floor and reserved a private room.
The four of them ordered dinner and opened a bottle of fine wine. Fang Liucheng and Gu Rui drank rather heavily, while Wen Ran used an excuse not feeling well and only had a cup of coconut milk. Both Fang Liucheng and Gu Rui were gentlemen and did not force her; Han Bi certainly wouldn’t.
When discussing the cooperation事宜,方柳城想投拍一部關於舊上海一對姐妹花舞女的故事,一個師傅姐和一個小師妹。
The story was good and the plot clear. The production team showed sincerity, so Wen Ran seriously considered taking on the role of the younger sister. In the film, both sisters were main characters with equal screen time, and for Wen Ran, this role offered a lot of room to showcase her talents.
Whenever she had a preference, Cai Xiaojing would agree, as long as it was something she liked; Cai Xiaojing would handle the contract details.
The main creators and strength behind this film made Wen Ran look forward to working on it. Although she knew that collaborating with Han Bi wouldn't be very pleasant, it was a rare opportunity that had been proposed by Han Bi herself.
Why not
Han Bi smiled elegantly throughout the dinner tonight and neither mocked nor criticized anyone. Her conduct during the meal was polite and refined, as if she had forgotten any unpleasantness between them and remembered nothing else.
Wen Ran knew that Han Bi had been married to Ye Feimo for a long time; seeing how calmly Han Bi could face her now, looking noble and elegant with no trace of hostility, Wen Ran couldn’t help but think that maybe she should let go of her past with Ye Feimo.
Fang Liucheng said, "Wenran, what do you think This is a rare opportunity; I sincerely invite you to join us."
Gu Rui and Han Bi seemed engrossed in their conversation. After thinking for a moment, Wen Ran replied, "Brother Liucheng, let me talk it over with Sister Xiaojing later. She can discuss the contract details with you.
Implying that Warm had tacitly agreed to take on the role, Han Bi gave a faint smile and raised her glass, "Then let's toast to our successful collaboration, Miss Wen."
Warm picked up a drink nearby but only took a sip as a gesture. Midway through, she felt unwell and got up to go to the restroom. Fang Liucheng noticed her unstable gait and was somewhat concerned, helping her out.
In the private room, Gu Rui and Han Bi were left behind.
"Warm, are you feeling really bad If so, let me send you home," said Fang Liucheng. Warm massaged her temples while leaning against the wall; she truly felt awful, ever since they'd left Green Light, her head had been heavy and aching.
Fang Liucheng wiped away the sweat on her forehead. Her face alternated between pale and flushed—clearly not right. After resting for a moment, Warm's vision began to clear up somewhat. "I'm going to wash my face."
Inside, she felt an ominous premonition that something was about to happen and there was nothing she could do to stop it. This thought made her fear grow incrementally until almost overwhelming her.
She took out a dry towel from her bag, dipped it in cold water and pressed it against her face. Since today's outing hadn't involved makeup, she didn't worry about ruining her look; the contact of the cool cloth with her heated skin brought some small relief.
The phone rang at this moment. Warm glanced at the screen and smiled slightly—Ye Feimo was calling. She answered, hearing Ye Feimo's voice, "Where are you Are you almost back"
"GK Oriental. Almost home," said Warm with a slight laugh; her voice was light but her breathing heavy from discomfort. Ye Feimo furrowed his brows, hesitating for a moment, "What's wrong"
"Nothing, just feeling hot." Just as Warm wanted to continue talking to Ye Feimo, Fang Liucheng's voice came from outside the bathroom, "Warm, are you done yet Why did it take so long"
Warm quickly said, "I'll talk later. See you soon," and hung up.
She hung up the phone, wiped her face, and threw the towel in the trash. Fang Liucheng was waiting for her outside, saying, "You don’t look well; let me take you home."
Wenran nodded, and they went back into the private room. Gu Rui and Han Bi were chatting when Wenran said that there was another business deal to discuss with Fang Liucheng which might keep her waiting for a while. Han Bi sat beside her; he handed her a drink and she thanked him before taking a sip. Her head felt even heavier, so Han Bi smiled faintly at her discomfort and suggested, “Why don’t I take you upstairs to rest You two can finish your business deal first.”
Wenran shook her head and took out her phone to call Ye Feimo. The phone slipped from her hand onto the ground; Han Bi picked it up and switched it off without saying a word. He then helped Wenran stand, saying, “I’ll take her upstairs for some coffee while you two finish your business deal.”
Fang Liucheng was in the middle of an important conversation with Gu Rui when he nodded his head at Han Bi’s suggestion and said, "You mean on the second-floor café"
"Exactly," Han Bi replied with a smile before helping Wenran out of the room.
Wenran felt her headache was worsening; she felt exhausted as if she had been run over by a car. She murmured Ye Feimo’s name and curled up comfortably in bed. The air-conditioning made the room rather chilly, so she wrapped an arm around the person next to her and asked with her eyes closed, “Fei Mo, what time is it”
There was no response for a long while; Wenran thought something must be wrong as she slowly opened her eyes. The darkness in the room took some time for her eyes to adjust to, but when they did, she instantly felt that something was amiss—she wasn’t at home.
This place was a hotel.
Furthermore, the scene around her seemed familiar as if she had been there before.
Wenran was taken aback and hurriedly looked at the man beside her. She drew in a sharp breath, “Brother Liucheng.”
Straightening up from bed was too shocking for her; she realized that she wasn’t wearing any clothes. Just then, there was commotion outside the door, followed by someone Wenran did not want to see at all.ue to the lighting, she found him looking more like a prince than usual."Just tasting each dish is enough, no one forces you to eat them all.""Can we take some of these away with us""No way.""What a w...
