The blue sky and white clouds over the Aegean Sea were the most beautiful ones Warm had ever seen, pure and flawless. However, she wasn't in a mood to appreciate them as Ye Feimo took her onto an island in the Aegean Sea.

This was a private island with pristine white beaches, vast fields of red spider lilies, towering palm trees, and jagged rocks, creating an odd and uncomfortable scene.

Ye Feimo had researched and found that the island was registered under a Chinese woman named Gu Zhenzhen. However, he couldn't find any information about this person no matter how much he searched, indicating either she didn't exist or there were no records of her.

Ye Feimo wasn't particularly concerned about this situation as there were many people in the world who could not be found through official records, such as members of secret organizations who left no traceable information behind.

"Can red spider lilies grow here" Warm asked Ye Feimo. He frowned, looking at the fields of crimson flowers that filled his vision with an ominous premonition, for these were flowers associated with the Yellow Springs Road and traditionally considered inauspicious.

The red spider lily was a flower symbolizing death.

The island was very quiet. Ye Feimo and Warm walked along the island but didn't encounter any people; they saw several large, ancient-style mansions instead, reminiscent of grand courtyards in period dramas with hanging red lanterns at their doors, evoking an old-fashioned charm.

One household had stone pillars carved with dragon-and-phoenix motifs, which was very strange. The street consisted of clean but uneven cobblestones and only three households formed a peculiar triangular shape. Each house's entrance had fields of red spider lilies in front of them, while the island also featured a small river and a little stone bridge, creating a quaint scene reminiscent of water flowing under small bridges beside houses.

Warm and Ye Feimo knocked on the door at the nearest household but received no response after knocking for a long time. They visited all three households in turn but nobody answered their knocks. The island was silent with not even a sound, only occasional harsh caws from ravens that gave Warm goosebumps and made her feel cold.

Ye Feimo tightened his grip on her hand and said solemnly, "Don't be afraid, I'm here."

In the silence, Ye Feimo's voice was incredibly reassuring. Warming nodded and felt relieved to have come with Ye Feimo; otherwise, she would surely be scared to death.

"Is it possible that there is no one on the island" Warming asked.

Ye Feimo shook his head. "No, there are houses here, and I saw many footprints by the seaside. There must be someone here."

A private island usually wouldn't have too many footprints. Since there are some, it means that someone is living here. If no one was here, why would Aunt Wen come to this island yesterday

Warming noticed that the doors of several households seemed to be unlocked. She thought about it for a moment and asked Ye Feimo, "Why don't we push open the door and take a look"

Just as Ye Feimo was about to push open the door, it suddenly opened on its own. A gust of wind blew in, and a girl dressed in white gauze appeared out of nowhere, startling Warming so much that she instinctively clutched onto Ye Feimo's hand.

The young girl looked around fifteen or sixteen years old. She was wearing a full set of white gauze clothes. Her face was as pale as a ghost with no hint of color, and her lips were deathly pale too. Her long black hair was scattered wildly due to the wind blowing against it from behind, making her look rather frightening.

Seeing such a figure at midnight would definitely make one think they saw a female ghost.

However, the girl's features were quite delicate and beautiful, with exceptionally pretty peach-blossom eyes similar to Warming’s.

"Who are you looking for" asked the young lady in white. She spoke perfect Mandarin with a light and airy tone that matched her fluttering gauze clothes perfectly. Her beautiful peach-blossom eyes were emotionless, empty like an abyss.

Ye Feimo and Warming exchanged glances; they could see through the woman to the courtyard behind her, but it was completely empty except for a faintly visible elegant wicker chair and a table, everything else obscured from view.

"Little girl, hello. Is there an around forty-year-old woman on this island" Warming asked.

"No!" the white-robed woman said coldly, her words as icy as ice.

Warm frowned. "How can there be none My mother visits her friends on this island every year; I heard her say that her friend is in her forties."

"No!"

Warm began to worry. "Little girl, who else lives on the island"

"No!"

Saying the two-word phrase three times didn't cause any change in the little girl's tone; it was eerie and definitely not the tone of a living person.

Warm felt uneasy.

Ye Fei Mo asked, "Are you the only one on this island"

"Yes."

"A woman in her forties visited yesterday. What did she come for" Ye Fei Mo questioned.

The white-robed woman's gaze fell upon Ye Fei Mo, then glanced at Warm before stepping out of the grand house and turning to walk along a small river towards the back. Warm and Ye Fei Mo followed her; the door to the grand house closed automatically behind them.

Not long after, they passed through a field of red flowers (manjusha flowers) when the white-robed woman stopped and pointed at Ye Fei Mo, saying, "You can't go any further."

Ye Fei Mo dangerously narrowed his eyes and reached out to pull the Warmth into his embrace. The woman pointed to a tombstone in the green grass not far away, looking expressionless at Ye Fei Mo, implying that he could not go over to look but only the Warmth could.

The island was full of strange occurrences; it was absolutely impossible for Ye Fei Mo to let the Warmth walk alone towards the tombstone. If anything happened, he would regret it to death.

He even somewhat regretted bringing the Warmth to this island.

The woman showed no expression and did not speak; the Warmth said, "Fei Mo, I want to go over and take a look."

"Warmth, let's leave. This island is too eerie. Don't go over there. It’s just a tombstone. The person my mother comes to see every year is just a deceased friend; there’s nothing interesting to see. Let’s leave now. My mom's friends have nothing to do with us." Ye Fei Mo tried to persuade the Warmth to leave, but she shook her head and refused adamantly, unwilling to budge. She had come all this way to the island, so she must get a clear understanding.

Ye Fei Mo did not understand why the Warmth was being so persistent; he felt anxious and could not help but look at that woman.

The white-clothed girl hadn't looked their way. Seeing her gaze also directed toward the tombstone, Ye Fei Mo asked, "Whose tombstone is this"

The white-robed girl did not answer.

The Warmth said, "I will just go and take a look; I’ll be back right away. Otherwise, I won't feel at ease. Fei Mo, you stay here and wait for me. Nothing bad will happen to me. If anything does, I'll call out to you."

It was a green grassland with a cross-shaped tombstone in the middle; there was a bunch of white lilies placed before the tombstone, probably just recently left by someone paying respects.

The Warmth thought that it might be her mother who had put them there.
